Beginning in the 1900's Sallie, Pearl's mother, was born on a farm in Tifton, Ga. There were many challenges and hardships. Sallie was married at fourteen to a man three times her age. They had six children together, Pearl was his tenth child. He was 63 at the time. Pearl was nine months old when her daddy died. She faced many heartaches in her life and in 1961 she dedicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. That decision turned her life from heartache and challenge to joy and fulfillment.
