The present work is a study of "Postnatal Health Care among Urban Women: A Sociological Inquiry". The study has been carried out in Meerut District of Western Uttar Pradesh, India. The study has been divided into six chapters. The first chapter is introductory which includes conceptualization, an overview of the literature, select studies, rationale and statement of the problem, area of study, universe/ sample, methods of data collection and data analysis. The second chapter deals with the socio-demographic profile of the respondents based on the empirical work done in the research area. The sixth chapter includes the summary and conclusion of the present study.
