Diese Art von Defekten, ob sie nun pathologischen oder mechanischen Ursprungs sind, erfordern oft einen kreativen Ansatz für das Management.Das Wort "perforieren" stammt vom lateinischen Wort "perforo" ab, das "bohren", "durchbohren" oder "durchdringen" bedeutet.Bei der Wurzelkanalperforation handelt es sich um eine mechanische oder pathologische Verbindung zwischen dem Wurzelkanalsystem und der äu eren Zahnoberfläche. Es gibt zwei Arten von Perforationen: eine, die aus einem resorptiven Prozess resultiert, und eine, die iatrogen erzeugt wird und bei der Aufbereitung der Zugangskavität oder der biomechanischen Aufbereitung des Wurzelkanals oder bei einem postendodontischen Verfahren auftreten kann.
