Synopsis "Palm Castle (in English)"

This is the story of eccentricity and strange doings in the office of an accounting/tax preparation firm in central Florida. And even stranger doings in the bar down the street... Say goodbye to the stereotypical boring, stuffed-shirted, dull, lackluster folks who populate your average, everyday accounting office. Now it's time to meet the zany, madcap, wacky folks who run H. B. Abercorn Tax and Accounting Associates of Palm Castle, Florida. The bar down the street, the Blue Midget Taproom, where all kinds of ungodliness gets mixed in with the liquor, beer and wine. From neighborhood bums who drink themselves into a stupor, to otherworldly beings named Zarephat and Skinjob, to a bartender named Earl who has seen it all and then some, to everyday folk just after a quick beer, this is a place to check out. Especially on Saturday nights...with live music happening in the front, and a popular but politically incorrect sport now banned in Florida going on in the back. Meet Bill Fredericks, über-tax professional with an eye for the ladies and a sense of humor as warped as an old pine picnic table. Meet Gary Anderson, aspiring writer from New Jersey who was a roadie for a local rock band back in the eighties, Steel Breeze, a band that once opened for Jon Bon Jovi. Meet Howard Franklin, computer genius and real-estate guru. Meet Mabel and Bunny, two of the sweetest ladies ever to lay fingers on a calculator and apply logic to a tax return - Abercorn's own Golden Girls. And meet Bob Smith, tax preparer extraordinaire and raving germophobe, constantly spewing facts and figures on religion, politics and filth; and when he's not doing that, he's spouting rock lyrics as if they were Holy Scripture. And Egbert V. Spratt; shy, wealthy and mysterious. And let's not forget Yvonne, who drinks. And of course Cliff Ratster, who has issues. And Dag Paulson, the textbook definition of cool upper management. And Shell Shapp, the new manager who tries o so hard to please... And Jessica, whose last name resembles that of a nineties boy-band, and who left the company years before, but still finds time to get up to no good with Bill, Gary and Egbert V. And there is Beth Raycorn, Antonio Bentley, and Hannah Green, part-timers all. They are an unconventional, politically incorrect, and fun-loving collection of folks. They are bound by no constraints, they fear nothing, and they follow nobody. They are free spirits in the purest sense of the word. The Palm Castle office employs twelve accountants, two receptionists and one manager. Together this bunch attracts more weirdness, bizarre folk, and unexplainable happenings than one can imagine. Sit back and enjoy the wild ride! Fun, frolic and craziness in a Florida accounting office and at the camel-piss bar down the street from the office, where the folks who toil the day away at H.B Abercorn Tax and Accounting Services go to shake off the day. Thriller and horror sage Larry S. Gray tries his hand a new genre, that of "Florida Weird." Masters of this genre, such as Tim Dorsey and Carl Hiassen, have had an impact on Gray during his time spent in Florida, and have inspired him to join in the fun... The result is Palm Castle, a rollicking tale amusing and weird, irreverent and gross, but most of all, just plain funny.
