Synopsis "Origins and Destinations: A Bilingual Book of Poems (in English)"
The first part of this book consists of 32 poems written in English organized in four sections (Origins, Reflections, Musings and Values) plus a selection of haikus. A translation of all poems into Spanish comprises the second part. The collection of poems deals primarily with issues of identity and one's origins, values, social justice, and meditations about life and relationships. Born in southern Europe, the author lived in Latin America before moving to the United States more than 30 years ago. He is a retired professor of communication and a former academic leader in international education. He has traveled extensively and done work in dozens of countries, some of which he has visited multiple times. The author states: "Three nationalities and multiple cultures reside in me and give complexity to the question who am I?" This book of poems in English with a Spanish translation invites the reader to reflect about life and values.
