A scene in the Virunga Park set off an impromptu gathering of a group of friends from different areas in the region on a hunt for the monster. Was the monster the dinosaur Paralititan that once roamed the land now known as Africa? Or the ivory poachers that cut off the front of an elephant's head? Or the chain of active volcanoes that spewed off lava now and then and threatened to erupt at any time? Join Hami, a ranger with his bloodhound Biriko, and Amana, a geochemical engineering student with her vulture Rafiki, and her father Professor Tabari, an archeologist, as they zigzag their way along the Northern Corridor of East Africa tracking down the frightening creature. The story marks the debut of a new graphical novel series about Africa titled Guardians of the Rising Continent.
