It was the grooviest of times. The Sixties. 1967 to be exact. The Summer of Love had just ended. Julie Carter was slowly getting over her crush on the cute, sandy-haired ice cream man who drove his brightly colored truck down the street every day. She packed up her record player, her entire collection of Beatles records, and some clothes and set off for college. At college, Julie blossoms. She soon begins an enduring friendship with another coed, and a romantic love with a fellow student that both confuses and excites her. She loves her little college town. She is an adult now and has adult choices to make. She makes a very important decision and hopes it is the right one. "Now I Know" recounts the journey of Julie Carter beginning with her 'Independence Day' in the late 1960's to what she hopes will be a day of reconciliation thirty years later. Throughout these years, Julie learns three important things. Three things she wishes she had known all along. Three things that could have changed the course of her life. "Now I Know" is a journey into adulthood; a journey of awakenings, realizations, and renewal. While Julie's story is entertaining, complete with captivating characters and interesting places, it also conveys an important message for people of all ages. After college, Julie begins a journey that will take her throughout the Southwest. What is she seeking to find? Herself? Love? Or is she trying to lose herself in a sea of strangers? References to events of the times allow the reader to feel as though they are taking the journey with Julie. Come along and get to know the funny, caring, endearing people she encounters along the way. Get to know the places she calls home. And finally, cheer for Julie as she throws caution to the wind and takes a chance at a special love.
