Neurologische Notfälle während der Schwangerschaft und nach der Geburt können in drei Situationen zusammengefasst werden: Bewusstseinsstörungen und Koma, Krämpfe und Lähmungen. Die Kenntnis der neurologischen Ursachen für schwere Morbidität während der Schwangerschaft und nach der Geburt ist wichtig, da sowohl für die Mutter als auch für den Fötus die Lebensprognose auf dem Spiel steht. Die vorliegende Studie ist eine retrospektive, deskriptive Studie, die in der Intensivstation der Entbindungsstation des Universitätskrankenhauses Farhat Hached in Sousse (über 10 000 Entbindungen pro Jahr) durchgeführt wurde. Dabei wurden die Akten und radiologischen Untersuchungen von 99 Patientinnen überprüft, die im Zeitraum von 2005 bis 2014 aufgrund einer neurologischen Komplikation im Zusammenhang mit der peripartalen Geburt auf der Intensivstation aufgenommen wurden.
