Synopsis "Nana (in French)"

Nana est l'une des oeuvres les plus représentatives de l'écrivain Emile Zola, auteur français du naturaliste du XIXe siècle et père du plus grand exposant de ce mouvement. Nana a été publié en 1880. L'histoire commence en 1868 et dépeint deux catégories sociales symboliques, celles des courtisanes et celles des noceurs. Zola, chef de file du mouvement naturaliste, montre la société telle qu'elle était mais choisit aussi ce sujet scandaleux car il fait vendre, 55 000 exemplaires du texte de Charpentier étant vendus dès le premier jour de sa publication. Le personnage de Nana a surtout été inspiré à Zola par Blanche D'Antigny.
