The writer intends to take you on a nostalgic journey from the stories he had heard about the enticing allure and gaiety of the dance hall atmosphere of Springdale Lake Honky Tonk and crossing chasms to actually growing up hearing the hellfire and brimstone preaching of the nationally know preacher and evangelist, Reverend Percy Ray. Nolan describes the devotion and work that went into the miraculous development of Camp Zion whose stated mission was "To Bring America back to God". He relates the antics of some of the workers that add a comical aspect to the many tasks that had to be done and coping with the straight-laced demands of this lifestyle. The book gives a delightful insight to life lived in an idealistic small town with many "Happy Places".
