The crudeness of soldier's speech and behaviour is a well known fact and is represented in this novel, which contains details of a sexual nature and very strong language. Readers likely to find such representation disturbing or distasteful are warned. Some characters and events in this novel are based on real people and events, some characters and events are fictitious.I will leave the reader to make up their own mind about what is real and what is fiction.
