In den letzten Jahrzehnten beschloss die WHO im Rahmen der Minamata-Konvention, die Verwendung von quecksilberhaltigen Dentalmaterialien aufgrund ihrer schädlichen Wirkung auf den Menschen auslaufen zu lassen. Dies beschleunigt die Forschungsarbeit im Bereich der hybriden Kompositmaterialien auf Harzbasis. Diese Forschungsarbeit konzentriert sich auf das Ziel und umfasst das Design und die Entwicklung von hybriden Kompositmaterialien auf Zahnharzbasis, ihre Herstellung im Labor und ihre Charakterisierung. Ziel ist es, die kombinierte Wirkung von Nano-Hydroxylapatit und Mikro-Titanoxid (TiO2) auf die zahnmedizinische Leistung der BIS-GMA-Matrix für zahnärztliche Restaurationsanwendungen zu verstehen. Es wurde festgestellt, dass die Verstärkung die physikalischen, mechanischen und zahnmedizinischen Eigenschaften des Zahnkunststoffs verbessert hat.
