Synopsis "Manasota Mystique (in English)"

This is my fifth book and a forth in a series about the main character, billionaire Lyle Brady. The story line starts where my fourth book, Tropical Rush, left off on New Year's Eve with Lyle celebrating with all his friends at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Sarasota. In early January, Lyle becomes entangled in corporate espionage and pharmaceutical deceit. After one of Lyle's weekly charity trips to Children's Hospital, he enters the elevator in the parking garage where he parked his SUV. As soon as the elevator's doors opened, Lyle stepped out into the enclosed vestibule and stairwell area on floor two. He walked over, pushed the steel fire door open, and stepped out in to the garage area. He had parked at the opposite end of the garage that morning, because the lot was almost full. He walked around to the right, going up a slight incline as he moved towards his SUV. As he got closer to his Cadillac Escalade, he noticed someone on the other side standing next to his vehicle. When he was closer, he saw it was Tina Frost one of Cancer Center research technician's, who said she needed to speak to him privately. She sat up a time and place to meet Lyle the Sunday. A few days later he sees on the local news that Tina was killed by a hit and run driver. The strange twist and turn of events over the next few months took down the head of the FBI and almost the presidency and exposed the nation to corruption in American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). By the end of April the U.S. Justice Department and FBI had made multiple arrest and exposed corruption at the highest level within the pharmaceutical world. Lyle's life had returned to some normalcy by May. He decides to look into traveling to Cuba. He checks with Charles Berkshire, Dolphin Aviation, on the best way for him to fly Lyle and his friends to the island. At the end of June, Lyle takes Betty, Isabella and Maria to Santa Marta, Cuba to visit their old neighborhood and see some of their friends. The two women find out their neighborhood had changed and was not what they remember. Isabella discovers her father is still alive and living in Matanzas, not far from Varadero where they were staying. She builds up the courage to visit him. She makes arrangements to spend the next day with him in his smoke shop. Trouble ensues when the Cuban government finds out Maria Ramirez is back in Cuba. Before she and Isabella escaped from Cuba in 2012, Maria who worked in a top-secret government computer installation, set off a destructive computer virus that brought down all the Cuban government's servers. The virus destroyed the governments' backups and communication files. Cuba blamed it on a U.S. cyber-attack. They didn't want the world to know it was caused by one of their own citizen. Lyle is forced to seek the help once again of his good friend Santino Gozzola Security to get him and the women out of Cuba safely. The story ends with Lyle Brady's seventieth birthday, August 1st.
