Synopsis "Let's Talk About Sex, Baby!: Understand how middle school students perceive the concept of sex (in English)"

This book is designed to assist parents when talking to their child about sex. It begins how my "Scientific Sex Education" class changed my life as well as many others. Intertwined is a true story about 8th graders who were curious about human sexuality and they are my inspiration. Several years ago one young lady became pregnant in 8th grade, in a small town, with a boy she planned on marrying and this young couple's story is told throughout the book. Read how one pregnancy at such a young age becomes a domino effect and how their class had several teenage mothers and many shocking statistics are included. The rest of the book breaks the conversations down to help parents discuss sexuality without building barriers. There are scenarios and actual dialogue included to help with the "what if" cases. It also includes the possible right times to begin a conversation as well as the wrong times! All of the information in this book came from students or from experience in dealing with students. Therefore, it is your opportunity to step in the mind of a teenager in today's time. According to a survey 100% of the students do not look at sex as something to save for one special person. Yes, they love the theory, but according to several teenagers it is not a reality. I discuss why so many teenagers do not look at sex as a sacred activity by presenting statistics and why they do not feel that getting pregnant is a big deal. I repeatedly mention this subject is not prejudice towards any race, religion, social economic group, or gender. It is a majority of teenagers today and the group is not declining. This book is not designed for parents to read with their children. This book is designed to give parents a wake-up call! The teenagers of today know more than they have in the past due to a vast majority of multimedia devices and basically having the world of information in the palm of their hands. Our mission as parents is to detour misconceptions and learn how to not react to shocking statements or questions and keep the dialogue open. Sit back, curl up and take time to learn how to talk to your child about SEX!!!!!
