Maureen, a young woman undergoing routine heart surgery, dies on an operating room table. Her partner is offered expressions of sympathy, but no medical explanation for the cause of her death. Suspicious, he initiates an investigation that uncovers a staggering truth. Maureen died an iatrogenic death--that is, she died as a result of medical treatment.
