Synopsis "It's Christmas Morning (in English)"

Reviewed by Philip Van Heusen for Readers' FavoriteIn an age of commercialism, it is nice to find an oasis of sanity in a children's book. Unfortunately, too many people have taken the day to remember the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ and turned it into a fantasy of Santa and toys. Lee Wanaselja wrote It's Christmas Morning to remind the reader that the importance of Christmas is the greatest gift God ever gave to mankind. The jingles warm the heart, while the illustrations show children overjoyed by the trappings of the holiday. Lee reminds us that before opening the physical gifts we should be thankful for the spiritual gift. This book is written with preschool children in mind. They will enjoy looking at the illustrations while sitting on their parent's lap and having the story read to them. What are your Christmas traditions? Do they include a mad dash to open presents, a big brunch with all types of goodies, or reading Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol? Of course, these are all good things, but do you forget the reason for the season? In It's Christmas Morning, Lee Wanaselja reminds us to stop and thank God for His gift of Jesus. After all, the birth of Jesus is the reason Christmas exists. Amidst all the hustle and bustle of the season, it is good to take a moment and thank God for all His wondrous gifts, especially for Jesus Christ. The days of Christmas morning church services or reading the biblical story of the birth of Christ before opening any gift may be gone. However, it is still wise to stop and say a prayer of thanksgiving for Jesus.
