Synopsis "Impact of Psychological Empowerment in Career Aspiration and Managerial Efficacy Among Management Students Paperback (in English)"
NTRODUCTION In the present educational setup the M. B. A. is a masters degree in the business administration. The MBA degree originated in the United States in the late 19th century when the country industrialized and companies sought scientific approaches to management. The core courses in an M. B. A. program introduce the various areas of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and operations management; many programs include elective courses. Accreditation bodies specifically for M. B. A. programs ensure consistency and quality of education. Business schools in many countries offer programs tailored to full-time, part-time, executive, and distance learning students, with specialized concentrations. In the present study the researcher introduces an intervention programme to enhance the psychological empowerment of the management students by rendering training on time management, assertive communication, and decision making and problem solving skill. In this research we assess the impact of the training programmes on the variables psychological empowerment, career aspiration, and managerial efficacy of the management students. Empowennent is not a new concept, although it may not have been named as such in past history. Henri Fayol, a French industrialist developed a system of management in the early 1900s, but it was his identification of a need to teach management skills that was perhaps the most significant contribution to psychological empowerment at the time. The practices such as time management, communication skill and decision making have significantly influenced the psychology of empowennent.
