I'm Getting a Sports Complex is author Kevin Lagowski's twisted love note to all things Philadelphia sports throughout his lifetime. As he hits the highlights (2008 Phillies!) and low points (Chip Kelly!), Kevin tackles all the important bits of the last quarter-century along the way, spreading praise, disdain and ridicule wherever they are deserved, both in town and among its biggest rivals. No one is safe. He brings his unique views on Philly's teams, players and coaches to life through the lens of an extreme fan as he also weaves his personal life into the conversation and gives the reader a glimpse behind the curtain of his time working in the Philadelphia sports scene with some never-before-shared tales and anecdotes. As our author grows from a child to a young man into a husband and father, so too does his understanding of the place of sports in his life. Through decades of meticulous note-keeping and his own sharp memory and recall ability (plus a little help from the internet), Kevin takes you back to the moments that defined the best and worst for his teams while also pointing out the minutiae you may have missed or have long since forgotten because you had better things to do. Kevin didn't. For all Philadelphia fans, but especially those between the ages 20 and 40, I'm Getting a Sports Complex is an unapologetic reminder of why we are the way we are and support our teams so voraciously. On top of all this, Kevin serves up a list of his 50 Most Disliked Philadelphia Athletes, which is sure to start debates and elicit more than a few agreeing nods and laughs at the expense of those dubious players who made the dishonor roll. There are plenty of ups and downs along the way, but spoiler alert: Everything turns out just fine thanks to a certain football team in green. In writing that is at turns humorous and heartfelt, it is painfully obvious that the author has a major complex when it comes to Philadelphia sports. Author Kevin Lagowski resides in Delaware and is a proud graduate of Our Lady of Fatima and Salesianum Schools. He considers himself an adopted Philadelphian because of his decades of commitment to its teams and his time spent at La Salle University.
