Synopsis "I and II Timothy: The Heart of a Servant: A Bible Study Workbook - Five minutes a Day in the Word (in English)"

Why a Bible Study workbook? Psalm 19:14 says: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. The book of Joshua, chapter 8, verse 1 says: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. I have participated in many Bible studies and have found that I spend more time making sure I try to keep up and stay on schedule than I do meditating on the Word itself. While I was praying about this a few months ago, the Holy Spirit led me to the book of Hebrews and showed me how to lay this Bible study out into a six week study that would only require 5 to 10 minutes a day in the Word. The first workbook is also available titled Hebrews: Who Is Christ? Honestly, it felt wrong at first because I think we, as Christians, somehow think we have to drown ourselves in the Word to make it count. I asked God for further understanding of what I was doing and here was His answer: I want your mind and thoughts on me as you go throughout your day. If you have a few verses of my Word each day on your mind, it will seep into your heart. It will saturate your surroundings and you will see my Word at work in your life. The book of Timothy and developing the heart of a servant is an important stepping stone in our Christian walk. These particular chapters from the Bible may spur more questions than what can be covered in this workbook. As you go through the study, I encourage you to write down the questions, even the hard ones, and continue to study in those areas beyond these pages. I would highly recommend reading the following three books once completing this study: The Woman Question by Kenneth E. Hagin, Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend, and In Search of Timothy: Discovering and Developing Greatness in Church Staff and Volunteers by Tony Cooke. They should help answer and clarify many of the questions that may present themselves.
