Das Lehrbuch stellt einen kurzen Abriss der grundlegenden Technik in der Leistungsprüfung von Dieselmotoren mit Ethanol-Diesel-Kraftstoffmischungen. Die Studie wurde unter dem Gesichtspunkt der Einführung, Literaturübersicht, experimentelle Arbeit, Schlussfolgerungen und Empfehlungen genommen. Ethanol ist eine alternative Energiequelle. Es ist Alkohol, der durch die Fermentierung von Mais und anderen ähnlichen Biomasse-Materialien hergestellt wird. Ethanol in seiner flüssigen Form, Ethylalkohol genannt, kann als Kraftstoff verwendet werden, wenn es mit Diesel oder Benzin gemischt wird oder in seinem ursprünglichen Zustand. Es kann auch als Rohmaterial in verschiedenen industriellen Prozessen verwendet werden. Ethanol wird durch die Fermentation von fast - jedem Material, das Stärke oder Zucker enthält, hergestellt. Getreide wie Mais und Sorghum sind gute Quellen; aber auch Kartoffeln, Zuckerrohr, Topinambur und andere landwirtschaftliche Pflanzen und Pflanzenabfälle sind geeignet. In den Vereinigten Staaten werden jährlich etwa 2 Milliarden Gallonen Ethanol produziert.
