Synopsis "History of German Christians in Russia: As told by Rev. Joseph Kessler and translated by Rev. Horst Gutsche (in English)"

This book was composed in German by Joseph Aloysius Kessler, and was originally titled "History of the Diocese of Tyrasol," (English translation of the German title). It was printed in 1930. The book was then translated from German to English by Rev. Horst Gutsche of Barrhead, Alberta, Canada. Rev. Gutsche expressed his intense desire that as many readers as possible would read and enjoy his translation, which was made available via the "Heritage Review" in a long series of articles from Kessler's book. "History of the Diocese of Tyrasol." The articles began with volume 47 #1 and they continue through 2020.This book is a remarkable account of Catholic German life and events in the Soviet Union at about the time of my parent's residence in the Kutchergan areas of Russia, now known as the Ukraine. It deserves to be published to retain its availability for all Germans from Russia and their descendants. The information in this book tells of both the trials and tribulations, as well as the many joys found only in our Catholic faith. It deserves to be published to retain its availability for all Germans from Russia and their descendants.
