The Indiana 100th Infantry Regiment was organized at Ft. Wayne in Aug., 1862, two companies, organized for the 98th regiment being assigned to it to complete its organization, and it was mustered in Sept. 10. It left the state Nov. 1, for Memphis, where it was assigned to the 2nd brigade, 1st division, Army of the Tennessee. It moved in the first expedition against Vicksburg and was active in that campaign, continuing thought the war in Georgia, and the Carolinas Campaign.
