Auf der Suche nach neuen Enzyminhibitoren von therapeutischer Bedeutung wurde die vorliegende Studie entwickelt, um Inhibitoren von zwei Enzymen von therapeutischer Bedeutung zu finden, nämlich Lipoxygenase (EC 1.13.11.12) und NTPDase (Nucleosidtriphosphatdiphosphohydrolasen) (EC 3.6.1.5) -Enzymen aus Extrakten von in der Volksmedizin verwendeten Heilpflanzen. Lipoxygenase-Hemmer sind an vielen entzündlichen Erkrankungen, Asthma, Krebs, einer erhöhten Immunantwort auf virale und bakterielle Infektionen, Leukämie, Lymphom und Autoimmunerkrankungen beteiligt. NTPDase-Inhibitoren sind derzeit für verschiedene Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen und einige Arten von Krebs bestimmt.
