Synopsis "Guilt & Consequences: An Illustrated Novel of Psychological Suspense (in English)"

A 12-year-old boy's father unexpectedly collapses and dies at a party given at their home in celebration of his advancement at his firm. The boy's lucid dreaming provokes a sense of guilt that he is somehow responsible for his father's untimely passing, particularly because of an earlier altercation between them. It is summer and his Uncle Joe, a psychiatrist (his mother's brother), suggests they use his summer cabin up in the Poconos as a respite to escape and relax during this difficult time. To make bad matters worse, this initial trauma is followed by a heinous, unspeakable crime, leading us to suspect additional characters in this small town setting. Along the way, however, even deeper secrets unveil themselves, in a chain of shared lifelong secrets and denials, and their ultimate consequences. The book's Author, Joseph Jacoby, is a Writer/Director/Producer of 5 motion pictures, and began his career as a creator of game shows and a puppeteer. His first book, "BOY ON A STRING" (A Memoir), with an Introduction By Martin Scorsese, coincided with The Museum of Modern Art mounting a weeklong retrospective of his feature work to date. He was the recipient of the "Best New Director" Award at The Virgin Islands Film Festival for "The Great Bank Hoax" (Warner Bros.) and honored for the picture at The Festival De Deauville Du Cinema Americain. His original Family Musical, "Davy Jones' Locker," starring the famed Bil Baird Marionettes, was the recipient of the Gold Award at Worldfest, Houston and awarded the UNIMA-USA "Citation of Excellence in the Art of Puppetry" by The American Center of the Union Internationale de la Marionette, founded by Jim Henson. His documentary, "A Case of MisTaken Identity?" was seen nationally on the PBS stations in 2008-09. In December 2009, The New York Times reprinted its film critic's reviews, citing 3 of the best independent pictures of the 70s, including Jacoby's second picture, "Hurry Up, Or I'll Be 30," featuring Danny DeVito in his first theatrical film performance. Jacoby lives in New York City.
