Götz von Berlichingen mit der eisernen Hand ist ein Schauspiel in fünf Aufzügen von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Als Vorbild der Hauptfigur galt der fränkisch-schwäbische Reichsritter Gottfried "Götz" von Berlichingen zu Hornberg (genannt "mit der Eisernen Hand"). Das Stück gilt als ein Hauptwerk des Sturm und Drang. Ähnlich wie sein Götz wollte auch Goethe mit diesem Stück Grenzen einrei en. Er stellte sich gegen die bisherigen Theater-Konventionen. Die Einheiten von Ort, Zeit und Handlung werden aufgehoben: Es gibt insgesamt über fünfzig Handlungsorte, und die dargestellte Zeit wird nicht auf einen Tag beschränkt, sondern durch mehrere parallel laufende Handlungen (Verhandlung vor dem Gericht, der Bauernkrieg, mehrere Fehden und Überfälle) gedehnt.
