The ancient Masonic legend of the Gilded Prophecy, has been passed down through four generations of the Hale family. The family believed that in 1823, Joseph Smith, a Freemason and Prophet of the Mormon Church had a large set of gold plates that contained the history and scriptures of the Ancient American people engraved upon them. The legend goes that when Smith finished translating the Reformed Egyptian characters on the gold plates, he received a prophetic vision from God, revealing the exact astrological timing of the Apocalypse, then added the prophecy to the gold plates, creating the Gilded Prophecy. Smith hid them carefully, leaving only a scant trail of archaic riddles to ensure that no one would ever use the prophecy or gold for worldly gain. But when Benjamin Hale finally breaks the code in his great grandfather's journal, he and his grandson Jackson are catapulted into a whirlwind of adventure as they are hot on the trail of the Gilded Prophecy. But when Jackson is kidnapped and held for ransom by an elusive captor in exchange for the Gilded Prophecy, will Benjamin be able to find the gold plates in time to save the boy's life?
