This translation focuses more on alternate texts (the Septuagint, the Samaritan Torah, the Peshitta) than merely on the Masoretic Text. This book carries a modern translation of the first book of the Bible: Genesis! Convincing dialogue and narrative give this translation a fresher view rather than the old "Bible language" of the King James Version. See the Preface for more about the translation work. Just what kind of translation is this, though? Many classify translations into three groups: literal (or Word-for-Word) translations, dynamic (or Thought-for-Thought), or a combination of both. Well, as for this translation here, it is more like a Thought-for-Thought translation than a Word-for-Word translation, although I do strive for accuracy of the text.
