Synopsis "From Superstition to Reason (Volume 2): Filipino humanist's journey to humanism (in English)"

This is a book about the journeys of some Filipinos from being religious to nonreligious and even becoming atheists. Humanism is a better representation of atheism, since it is more positive and convey a welcoming incentive for atheism. We are not just atheists, we are humanists at heart, because, we value people and any living thing more than dogmas and the bible. We are activists, our objective is to propagate humanism as an alternative to religion especially in the Philippines, whereby 97% of people remain religious and superstitious. This book is a continuation of the first volume, however, more intense and the authors are more reliable than just pretending to be humanists for the purposes of vain and social acceptance. Since September 15, 2017, HAPI ( Humanist Alliance Philippines, International) has garnered the best officers since inception. No more infighting and no more professional jealousy. In fact, we have also bagged a lot of awards from our international affiliates. To date, HAPI remains the only nonreligious society in the Philippines with regular community outreach to uplift poverty, activities for the betterment of some indigenous people in Mt. Haduan, feeding with educational component in Alabang/Bacolod and other events and activities such as LGBT and equality marches or parades, debate in schools and café humaniste sponsored by Humanists International. Our society is spreading like wild fire in the Philippines and the advent of social media especially Facebook made it easier and better. We now have over 8000 online members and still growing since we are inclusive. Inclusivity is also our goal, not to convert, but to educate. Some religious people have become agnostic already. This book is made up of stories from Filipinos in the Philippines or anywhere in the world and some other humans who have very close ties to the Philippines. Some are dramatic, some are very nostalgic, yet, all are true to life stories.Be ready to cry and feel our pains. We offer this to the readers as our way to educate the minds to the culture, religion and family orientation in the Philippines, without even traveling to our beloved country. We hope that this book will provide some inspiration and enlightenment to the Filipinos and any person who is seeking paths towards paradigm shift of religion. We express the conviction that every human has a gift of REASON, the power to change and make a difference in a society torn by SUPERSTITIONS.
