Synopsis "Friends and Enemies (in English)"
Betrayal, trust, and vengeance. In hoods around the country, these things could be the difference between life and death. What does a person really have if they cannot trust those around them? Is there really that much to lose by having the wrong kind of people around you? In Friends and Enemies, several people will find the nearly deadly effects of pointing your finger in the wrong direction when something goes down. For every finger you point, there just might be a bullet, or more, headed in your direction. Antoine is a hustler and proud of it. Growing up in the streets of Cincinnati, he learned firsthand that holding down a job that made any kind of real money probably wasn't the life for him. Instead, he put all his energy and talent toward the street and making money. And, up until a shooting at local producer Rocky's studio, things had been going rather well. Despite he and his sister Sevyn having to combine forces to take care of their aging grandfather, his name in the hood was respected. All of this respect will begin to shift when Cam insists that Antoine was involved in the shooting at Rocky's studio. For the better part of five years or so, Cam and Antoine had a beef that Cam would never let die. Cam, an aspiring rapper himself, pulls from his own experiences in his lyrics. For this reason, his tongue may get a little too lose when it comes to Antoine - a looseness that will only stir the pot as Antoine realizes that he'd become the wrong culprit. Antoine uses not only his social skills to his advantage, but also that things that drives so many women around him crazy. With a plot that will leave the reader on their toes, as well as characters that don't know which way to look when something happens, or the unknown intentions of others, Friends and Enemies shows how the obvious answer might make you dead wrong...
