Synopsis "Formulierung und Bewertung von Metformin und Glimepirid (in German)"

Ziel dieser Forschungsarbeit war es, eine kombinierte antidiabetische Formulierung aus zwei verschiedenen Arzneimitteln zu entwickeln, die über unterschiedliche Mechanismen wirken. So können sie sich gegenseitig ergänzen und gemeinsam den Blutzuckerspiegel wirksam senken. Metformin und Glimepirid wirken über unterschiedliche Mechanismen. Glimepirid reduziert die Hyperglykämie, indem es die Insulinsekretion steigert, während Metformin die Insulinempfindlichkeit verbessert und die hepatische Glukoseproduktion unterdrückt. Aufgrund ihrer komplementären Wirkmechanismen wäre eine Kombinationstherapie mit Glimepirid und Metformin sinnvoll und könnte zu Vorteilen in Form einer verbesserten Blutzuckerkontrolle und einer besseren Verträglichkeit bei niedrigeren Dosen der einzelnen Wirkstoffe führen.
