Synopsis "Formulation and Evaluation of Transdermal Patch of Amlodipine Besylate (in English)"
The preformulation studies involves description, solubility, melting point, of the drug were found to be comparable with the standard. Based on the all above preformulation studies the drug was suitable for making the transdermal formulation. Based on all these factors the transdermal drug delivery system F5 was having greater % drug release. The formulation F5 shows better extended release up to 24hrs when compared to other formulations. So it was concluded that the formulation F5 prepared by using Eudragit RS100 and HPMC is the better formulation for control release of drug up to 24hrs of time. However, the best formulation F-5 follows first order kinetics and the mechanism of diffusion. Results of the present study encouraged that it can be used as controlled drug delivery system and frequency of administration can be minimized.
