Synopsis "Fighting Diabetes the High Tech Way: A Silicon Valley CEO's quest to save his life with technology (in English)"
Diagnosed with Type II diabetes at the height of his career as a Silicon Valley CEO, Gerald Hsu spent the next decade relying on prescribed medication to control his condition. Unfortunately, his health continued to deteriorate. Refusing to succumb to a life of insulin injections and dialysis treatments, Gerald took it upon himself to study and learn about chronic diseases and food nutrition. He then combined his newfound knowledge of these areas with his background in mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering, psychology, and business management to create a nonprofit diabetes research organization and a breakthrough diabetes management software system, eclaireMD. Utilizing the system he developed to identify, assess, treat, and monitor his diabetes, Gerald was able to reverse much of the damage done to his health and reduce the dosages of his medications until he ceased taking them completely. This is a story of one extraordinary man's journey to save his own life and his hope to share his knowledge-and the life-saving, high-tech tools he developed-with the world.
