Synopsis "Everyman's Guide to Orgasm: (The Dark Side of Sex in America) (in English)"

Our topic is female orgasm -- it's failure and consequences. This is not a popular subject in American media, for obvious reasons: women make more of the purchases. One-third or more of American females experience this disability, generating roughly 50 million dissatisfied females. Employing Hillary Clinton's motto, fake it until you can make, they mask the problem and thus begin the relationship with a fundamental falsehood. The seriousness of this issue is indicated by the fact that 82 percent of divorces occurring in the fourth year of marriage list sexual dysfunction as one of its principal causes. Thus the phenomena of divorce rests largely on the slippery slope of this falsehood. Everyman's Guide to Orgasm is not intended to cure the problem, but to more fully expose it. How can a man determine whether his potential partner is or is not orgasmic? A list of symptoms which avoid this fruitless inquiry is supplied. Sigmund Freud enlarges our appreciation of this challenge, arguing that the sexual dysfunction described is an unavoidable aspect of modern competitive society. His one-time colleague Wilhelm Reich agrees with this proposition but denies it's inevitability. Reich asserts that orgasmic dysfunction can be corrected by restructuring the social relations which lead to Freud's diagnosis. A tall order: but society is constantly evolving, possibly in an ameliorating direction.
