In a very strange, but moving love story, he must not reveal the secret of who he is and where he came from. She becomes angry. When the boys decide to return to their own time, they discover Randy's beloved is leaving for New York on the unsinkable ship. Randy's desire to be with her is overpowering, so they also book passage. The young men make the last minute effort to vault forward to 2012 via their (1912) homemade copy of the time machine. They experience the implosion, however, it was a failure - they are still aboard. The new century media has a field day with the Titanic sailing past the Statue of Liberty 100 years late. It's truly an awesome sight for the thousands who came to see her! After most of the passengers disembark, they begin to disappear, each with an expression of total surprise. Randy has learned a hard lesson for interfering with Time. He is overcome by grief at the loss of Sarah...
