Alexander Parker had a fairly ordinary life with his father, stepmother, stepsister and new little brother in Florida. A phone call from his mother, informing Alex of his grandmother's recent stroke sends him driving to the small Virginia town of Stephensburg-where he planned to finish out his senior year of high school while taking care of Grams. Shortly after enrolling in Stephensburg High he becomes smitten by the other newbie on campus-Emma Grace Fawn-and embarks on a relationship that both thrills and scares him to his very core. Despite some odd occurrences, his life seems better than ever he can remember until it all starts to crumble on his 18th birthday.
