In the 20th century industrialization started as a result of large number of innovations in the field of science. Then pollution becomes inevitable. Textile industry particularly the chemical processing sector got the major boom during that period. Since then textile chemical processing industry always have major share in the global pollution. Pollution in textile ranges from azo dyes containing banned amines, chlorinated bleaching baths, softeners, formaldehyde-based compounds. Some pollutants like azo dyes containing banned amines like benzidine are even carcinogenic. Enzymes play key role in such alternative processes. Use of enzymes in textile started as long as a century ago. But it is restricted to the process of desizing only for very long time. Use of enzyme in textile started two decades ago with Bio-stoning. Then this sector of enzymes in textile field started flourishing which today have presence in all most of all processes in chemical processing of yarn, fabric.
