Synopsis "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha. Parte segunda"

La primera parte de El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha fue escrita en 1615. Cervantes no iba a escribir una continuación, pero otro autor -cuyo pseudónimo era Avellaneda- hizo una segunda parte en la que Don Quijote se presenta de otra manera. Por esto, Cervantes escribió una rectificación de la imagen de Don Quijote, cuyo prólogo nos dice: "¡Válgame Dios, y con cuánta gana debes estar esperando ahora, lector ilustre, o cualquier plebeyo, este prólogo, creyendo hallar en él venganzas, riñas y vituperios del autor del segundo Don Quijote". "Y no le digas más, ni yo quiero decirte más a ti, sino advertirte que esta segunda parte de Don Quijote que te ofrezco, es cortada del mismo artífice y del mismo paño que la primera, y que en ella te doy a Don Quijote dilatado, y finalmente muerto y sepultado".
