DESERTED explores newspaper accounts of 1263 military soldiers who intentionally fled from their units across Great Britain from 1726-59. Similar to police-issued All Points Bulletins (APBs), the details provided in these articles include name of the accused, aged, personal features, (in many cases) birthplace, and any additional attributes the issuing regimental agents thought necessary to include.
