Neben dem weit verbreiteten Transaktionalen Stressmodell von Lazarus und Folkman ist auch das biologische Modell von Selye bekannt. Letzteres beschreibt Stress als Reaktion des Körpers. In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll jedoch die Grundprinzipien und wesentlichen Komponenten des Transaktionalen Stressmodells dargestellt werden. Zudem wird ein passendes Beispiel aus dem arbeitsorganisatorischen Kontext entwickelt, um den Stressbewältigungsprozess nach Lazarus und Folkman zu veranschaulichen. Des Weiteren soll ausführlich erörtert werden, inwiefern der Ansatz des Transaktionalen Stressmodells eine interkulturelle (universelle) Gültigkeit erlangen kann, indem er um die Konzepte der Social Identity Theory (SIT) und der Self-Categorization Theory (SCT) erweitert wird.
