Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Spanische Sprache, Literatur, Landeskunde, Note: 1,7, Universität Potsdam (Institut für Romanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit geht der Frage nach, wie sich die Purtoricaner in New York City etabliert haben, und welche Anpassungen im Zuge dieser Veränderung in Ihrer Sprache vorgenommen wurden. Im Besonderen wird dabei auf das Sprachkontaktphänomen Code-Switching, als eine der wichtigsten Eigenschaften der Sprache der Puertoricaner in New York, Spanglish, eingegangen. Zunächst wird dabei auf einige definitorische Probleme fokussiert und die einzelnen Varianten des Code-Switching werden näher erläutert. Daran anschlie ende wird dann spezieller auf die Puertoricaner in New York eingegangen, wobei auch die historischen Einflüsse auf die linguistischen Aspekt des Spanglish untersucht werden. Abschlie end werden die Ergebnisse zusammengefasst und ein Fazit gezogen.
