English summary: This is the first volume of a commentary on the Gospel of Luke, conceived in three volumes, and comprises the first chapters of the gospel (Luke 1:1-9:50), i.e., the infancy gospels and the Galilean period of Jesus' ministry. The introduction briefly discusses text-critical questions, canonization, language, construction, origin, and the theological profile of the Third Gospel. According to the author, Luke is not a direct disciple of Paul; he represents a special form of Paulinism in the third generation of Christianity. Luke was more interested in the person of the Son of God and the story of the First Witnesses than in the external structure of Christian communities. This commentary is accompanied by detailed references and a translation. The exegesis itself deals with the tradition and structure of the text. It draws attention both to often neglected philological questions and to Luke's theological concerns. In addition, the commentary provides insights into the text's history of reception: church fathers, medieval and Reformation theologians are selectively quoted. German description: Der vorliegende 1. Die Einleitung bespricht in knapper Form textkritische Fragen, die Kanonisierung, die Sprache, die Konstruktion, den Ursprung und das theologische Profil des 3. Evangeliums. Lukas ist nach Meinung des Verfassers kein direkter Schuler des Paulus, er vertritt eine besondere Form des Paulinismus in der dritten Generation des Christentums. Die Person des Sohnes Gottes und die Geschichte der ersten Zeugen interessierten Lukas mehr als der ausserliche Aufbau der christlichen Gemeinden. Ausfuhrliche Literaturangaben und eine Ubersetzung begleiten den Kommentar. Die Exegese selbst behandelt die Uberlieferung sowie die Struktur des Textes. Sie macht sowohl auf die oft vernachlassigten philologischen Fragen wie auf das theologische Anliegen des Lukas aufmerksam. Daruber hinaus vermittelt der Kommentar Einblicke in die Wirkungsgeschichte: Kirchenvater, mittelalterliche und Reformationstheologen werden selektiv zitiert. Gesamtorientierung des Kommentars: Lukas wird eher als Theologe des Wortes als der Geschichte verstanden. Sein Interesse liegt starker im Bereich der Christologie als im Bereich der Ekklesiologie, sein Kirchenverstandnis ist an Mission und Ethik und nicht primar an Amt und Kirchenverfassung orientiert.
