1667 verfasste Johann Amos Comenius das Memorandum Angelus Pacis, vor dem Hintergrund englisch-niederlandischer Friedensverhandlungen in Breda. Anders als seine padagogischen Werke ist diese Schrift bisher wenig rezipiert worden, obschon Comenius' Ausfuhrungen zur Friedensethik heute aktuell wie selten scheinen. Angelus Pacis integriert rechtliche, rational-motivationale und teleologisch-geschichtliche Aspekte des Friedensprozesses, weshalb es nicht nur aus religioser Perspektive interessant, sondern auch fur eine Auseinandersetzung mit den traditionellen vorherrschenden rechtsphilosophischen bzw. friedensethischen Theorien anschlussfahig ist. Die Beitrage entstammen einem von Prof. Dr. Jean-Christophe Merle und Dr. Anna Szyrwinska-Horig geleiteten internationalen Workshop.
