Achebe's contribution in the field of Nigerian literature integrates a large number of his works. Yet to appraise him in terms of the two novels will not be an underestimation. For many a critic, Achebe is the father of the African novel because of his matchless contribution towards the Africanisation. The scope is thus limited to the readings of the novels for understanding the work.
