Summer has just begun and eighteen-year-old Beth has arrived in a historic town to take part in an archeology dig. Meanwhile Brenda, born and bred New Yorker, also has arrived on the same train. After meeting in a somewhat unusual fashion, they are immediately plunged into awkward circumstances that they have to untangle. Acknowledging Brenda's good intentions, Beth is nevertheless perplexed by Brenda's actions.
