Featured in St. Matthew's early history are Wartburg President Grossmann, the missionary efforts of the Fritschel brothers of Nuremberg, and the Vogel brothers of Hof, Bavaria; each deeply influenced by Rev. Wilhelm Löhe of Bavaria. These Chronicles include a transcription of the original German text and a translation into English. Also included are over 150 pages of valuable research including: biographies and history sketches, St. Matthew's records and pastors lists, selections from church record books, and an emigration description from 1855.
