Chad Rutherford, a land developer from Vermont, was so intrigued by the article he read in the, 'See America First', magazine, of how in just one year, Cool Water Springs was transformed from a dead coal mining town into a place of peace and beauty, he decided he must see this place. He entered Cool Water Spring on a snowy New Year's Eve and encounters a skeptical Miss Gracie at Bailey's Market. She puts Chad's heart in a spin. Miss Gracie resists his friendly gestures and views him as an arrogant, self-centered man. Doug, the owner of Bailey's Market invites Chad to the New Year's Eve party at Ginger Hill. At the party Chad is taken back as he witnesses a group of people coming together with so much love and compassion for each other and their town. Miss Gracie has awakened something in Chad that he had let his drive for success and making money suppress. As they danced their way into the New Year, Miss Gracie's fear of letting her heart be captured by a stranger grew. Living in a small mountain town Like Cool Water Springs, she was unprepared to meet a man as enchanting as Chad. The secret she had kept buried deep within her stands between her and a relationship with Chad.
