Synopsis "Central Middlesex: (where there may be very little of it, but are many nice people and places to see)--Va, & a strange deja vu: a photogr (in English)"

Allen Brockman is an independent scholar and photographer living in rural Virginia. This four-volume set is a compilation of black and white photographs of historical, natural, and modern sites, people and things in one of Virginia's most interesting counties-Middlesex-on the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay-with particular focus on the central part of the county (near where the author lives) and elsewhere. The area is not on one of Virginia's interstates, which is all the more reason to take a leisurely drive up or down U.S. 17 and take a visit. You may never want to leave! This volume (4) is a compilation of more than 100 black and white photographs of interesting houses (take a tour through downtown Saluda), "modern" churches, restaurants, stores, businesses, community support, social activities and school, county health care and the final curtain in Middlesex. Volume 1 focuses on the historical and aquatic recreational aspects of the County and elsewhere. This includes beach, natural area, nature, agricultural, watermen, rivers, bay, and recreation-all are pictured in volume 1. Volumes 2 and 4 contain other photos about animals, people, general places, the postal service, everything Chesty Puller and the military in Middlesex, lost or nearly lost causes (including the Dominion transmission line controversy), and roads and lanes in Middlesex. Previously, the author wrote a 2-volume biography of President James Monroe (Old Portrait New Frame).
