Katie lives in Clarens, a small town tucked away in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in South Africa. She runs a guest farm with her friend Lizzie. Both of them have run away from their pasts and have built new lives for themselves and their children. Riaan is a burnt out investigative journalist who has just messed up his last assignment. His leads on the child trafficking syndicate have nearly cost him his life. He is sent on a sabbatical and finds himself on Katie's guest farm recouperating with his teenage son.
