In Calamity at the Devil's Door, Wilford and Patricia Lewine gather their immediate family in Tasmania to attend the Winter Olympics to watch their step-granddaughter, Camie, compete in the figure skating event. They never suspect that they are walking into a nefarious terrorist plot to kidnap Camie and ten medal winners from the downhill skiing competition held at a spot known as the "Devil's Door." As the terrorist begin to put their deadly plan into effect, the youngest Lewine, Trinity, mysteriously disappears, causing the Lewine family great turmoil. Although local law enforcement resents their efforts, the three cousins, Jessica 22, Rhiannon 21, and Madeline 20, join forces to recover the eleven year old girl, little knowing that Trinity has accidentally stowed away on the boat that is transporting the ten medalists to a small island off the coast of Costa Rica. The trio soon discovers the kidnapping is only a small part of the larger devastation planned by the terrorists. To the cousins' great dismay, they realize that the lives of millions of Americans hang in the balance. To save Trinity, they must confront the Colombian drug lord, Pedro Fernando, whose hate for the Lewine family has ultimately driven the entire scheme, and find their loyalty to their country tested by their love for their family. W. Thomas Richards is a rare 4th generation native of Colorado, and has two engineering degree from DMU . He was a Division head in a large Utility Company for 37 years. Mr. Richards has experienced the cultures of over 70 countries. He and his late wife have three sons, Ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
