In the shadow of September 11, a mysterious vessel, laden with Iraqi refugees, is drifting stricken off the coast of Western Australia. Caught in a tropical cyclone, it is driven onto the continent's rocky shoreline. Out of the wreckage emerge two heroes. Major David Black, Australian Army, reluctantly thrust into the limelight. Yousef Musaref, Iraqi refugee, incarcerated and hidden from the world's gaze. When the two men are thrown together by chance, the fate of their nations is in their hands. Surrounded by the enemy, trusting no one, they begin a desperate mission to flee Australia, bound for Baghdad, to track down an enemy that has eluded armies, and to save the women they love.
